ART COLLECTORS HAVE COMMONLY FOUND IN HER WORKS A REMINISCENCE IN STYE, WITH THE PAINTINGS OF HOKUSAI, FOR OFTEN BEING REFERRED TO HIS WAVES - WITH THE LINES OF ZAHA HADID FOR BOTH BEEING DRIVEN BY THE SHAPES OF DUNES, REMINISCENT OF SWAY'S LARGE SCALE OCEAN'SKIES - WITH ROBERTO MATTA FOR HER «SOULSCAPES» VERSUS HIS «INSCAPES» - AND AT LAST, WITH FRIDA KAHLO FOR A SIMILAR DESTINY, AND PROCESSES OF HOLISTIC VISUALISATION.
SWAY emerged from the Scottish artist Jeanne Ricketts. born into a transcultural lineage of artists, poets (Rudyard Kipling), movie-makers (Florian Henckel von Donnersmark), martyrs (Maria Stuart) and musicians. her grandmother was a soloist of Aberdeen’s Orchestral Society, and one of her great-grandfathers, Frederick-William II, known as musician and patron of the Arts, commissioned the Brandenburg Gate as a symbol of peace. —
SWAY was awarded for "Arts and World Culture" at UNESCO in September 2015 via her illustrations and speech on "genocide, art and peace" at the occasion of the centenary of the Armenian genocide. The following year SWAY presented a holistic family portrait entitled “our eldest brother Iraq & sister Syria” at United Nations in Geneva.
Besides painting abstract expressionist soul portraits, SWAY is driven by locutions which often unfold as symbolic portraits of situations, countries and current affairs, as well as how we relate to another from holistic perspectives. -
In ’94 she graduated in arts & fashion from the hkw school in baden-wurttemberg, germany. in the same year she traveled between monaco and rhodos to collaborate with architects and artists, as well as studying byzantine iconography under eva vlavianos, which marks her main influence in her style today.
Graduating in '97 with awards from the Institut Guégan (Brittany, F) in decorative arts, murals and scenography, one recognises SWAY’s striking trademark in her series of ‘soulscapes’ and abstract- figurative works. From 1998 to 2001 SWAY mingled with RAZZIA, the official LVMH poster artist, and painted privately on a regular basis at "Castel Caramel" with surrealist ERNST FUCHS who often collaborated with DALI and HUNDERTWASSER.
Between 2002 and 2012, SWAY regularly swinged from her Monaco studio to her secret tower in Jettingen’s Castle, birth place and home of Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg, which anchored SWAY’s call in painting salvational themes.
Her slogan that «everything feels everything», holistically sharpened her art-purpose, serving a missing puzzle beyond the conventional art scene.
Swaying from her almost aboriginal opaque paintings and holistic street-art to short films, poetry, diluted inks painted over depleted photographs and drawings, which she sets into motion via backlight cuttings, to SWAY’s ethereal murals in various chapels and castles, scaffolds what is yet to come : creativity as a swaying experience towards the next leap in cultural evolution.-

"Out of a deep urge, observing the general world's decline and abuse of art itself, it became obvious for me since autumn 2012 to put thoughts into action, encouraged by my friends satish kumar, earth pilgrim and disciple of mahatma gandhi, as well as claude grunitzky, a transcultural think-tank. ever since, we initiated a small cross-continental interdisciplinary art movement called ‘artpilgrims', which for experimental reasons was kept amongst ourselves. the core of its essence is now flowing into SWAY, the next leap in cultural evolution, which scope is still unpublished.
as i create, it feel as if i'm communicating in the oldest universal language, making me time-travel whilst touching zones I could never physically reach. whatever drives me occasionally ends up in my short film "trapped in freedom", my autobiography, life-puzzle and teacher.. relentlessly seeking wholeness via my series on "fusions" and holistic portraits of countries, my semi-abstract works are visual analogies of the soul's inscapes, which may be perceived as the actual body of anything alive in a world of transient things.
