HOLISTIC SCENOGRAPHIC MURALS   |   ARCHITECTURAL METAMORPHOSIS   |   OCEAN-SKY-POET

in collaboration with

ORBAN WALLACE  |  Another News Story

ESPRONCEDA  |  Center for Art & Culture

ART COLLECTORS HAVE COMMONLY FOUND IN HER WORKS A REMINISCENCE IN STYE, WITH THE PAINTINGS OF HOKUSAI, FOR OFTEN BEING REFERRED TO HIS WAVES;.. WITH THE LINES OF ZAHA HADID FOR BOTH BEEING DRIVEN BY THE SHAPES OF DUNES, REMINISCENT OF SWAY'S LARGE SCALE OCEAN-SKIES;.. WITH ROBERTO MATTA FOR HER « SOULSCAPES » VERSUS HIS « INSCAPES »; AND AT LAST, WITH FRIDA KAHLO FOR A SIMILAR DESTINY, AND PROCESSES OF HOLISTIC VISUALISATION.

SWAY - emerging from the artist Jeanne Ricketts, reveals behind her large scale works, a hybrid sphere of its own. Born in Paris in the 70’s of Scottish-German descent into a lineage of artists, poets (Rudyard Kipling), movie-makers (Florian Henckel v. Donnersmark) including one of her great grand fathers Frederick-William II, known as musician and patron of the Arts and for commissioning the Brandenburg Gate as a symbol of peace, SWAY was awarded for "arts and world culture" at Unesco in September 2015 via her illustrations and speech on « genocide, art and peace" at the occasion of the centenary of the Armenian genocide. The following year she presented a holistic portrait, entitled “our eldest sister Syria and brother Iraq” at United Nations, Geneva.

In ’94 jeanne graduated in art & fashion from the hkw school in baden-wurttemberg, germany. in the same year she traveled between monaco and rhodos to collaborate with architects and artists, as well as studying byzantine iconography under eva vlavianos, which marks her main influence in her style today.

When the greek-turkish military "imia crisis" escalated in '96, jeanne left to complete her Art skills in Brittany and Graduated with awards from the Institut Guégan in Brittany in ’97. Being her master's best year’s student in decorative arts, murals and scenography, one recognises her distinct style in her series of ‘soulscapes’ and abstract-figurative works. Her insight that «everything feels everything» sharpened her art-purpose.

Swaying from almost aboriginal opaque paintings and holistic street-art to short films, poetry and diluted inks painted over impoverished photography, drawings and backlight paintings she cuts through, to her ethereal murals in various chapels and castles, scaffolding what is yet to come : art as a swaying experience, marrying luxury to poverty.

In 1998 she often mingled with razzia the official lvmh poster artist, and painted privately on a regular basis (1998-2001) at "castel caramel" with surrealist ernst fuchs..

Between 2002 & 2012, SWAY was regularly invited to paint in one of the towers at Jettingen's castle, birth place and home of Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg, which anchored her call in painting salvational themes she refers to as « Art of Crosscurrent Relief ».

"Out of a deep urge, observing the general world's decline and abuse of art itself, it became obvious for me since autumn 2012 to put thoughts into action, encouraged by my friends satish kumar, earth pilgrim and disciple of mahatma gandhi, as well as claude grunitzky, a transcultural think-tank. ever since,  we  initiated  a  small cross-continental  interdisciplinary art movement called ‘artpilgrims', which for experimental reasons was kept amongst ourselves. the core of its essence is now flowing into SWAY, the next leap in cultural evolution, which scope is still unpublished.

. . EVERYTHING FEELS EVERYTHING.
ART IS A COMMITMENT TO SAVE US
FROM IGNORANCE, BY BALANCING
THE WORLD OF PARADOX . .

as i create, it feel as if i'm communicating in the oldest universal language, making me time-travel whilst touching zones I could never physically reach. whatever drives me  occasionally ends up in my short film "trapped in freedom", my autobiography, life-puzzle and teacher.. relentlessly seeking  wholeness  via  my  series  on  "fusions" and holistic    portraits of countries, my semi-abstract works are visual analogies of the soul's inscapes, which may be  perceived  as  the  actual body of anything alive in a world of transient things.

#SWAYquotes

" For beauty being such
weapon of non-violence,
I devoted my call
to the source of all life. - Love. "

"It's only once we realize

the world has become a prison

with invisible walls

of distractions & revelations,

that we're allowing ourselves

to find ways to escape and free

one another, just for the sake

of being paradise birds.."

"The eye of the soul

catches sequences of

the present in eternity."

"In trance's trace, art translates

the broad spectrum of reality

into a mixed media language of

serendipity, tragedy and poetry."

"Whilst writing

with my paintbrush,

tapped in mixed media,

I tend to occasionally

end up in short films -
